While much of my time is given over to preaching, teaching, and celebrating the Sacraments, I’m excited about this particular moment to share what has been in my heart ever since I became pastor in 2020.
Through much prayer, conversation, and support from the Archdiocese, our staff and I believe that God has put into our hearts a certain vision- a picture of the future that is supposed to produce hope and passion in our people. Throughout the website, you will find our parish strategy, the pillars of our vision, and our discipleship pathway. A discipleship pathway reflects the different milestones people find themselves on their journey with God.
Prov 29:18 reads, “Without a vision, the people will perish.” In response toour country's diminished sense of religiosity and a prevailing culture which struggles to promote Biblical values, we rely on God's vision to show us the path forward. We desire to continue to build a culture of evangelization and discipleship. We aspire to be prayerful, intentional, mission-minded, and committed to continual conversion. And most importantly, we hope that all may know the love of God and make His love visible to the world.
One of the things that makes God special is that the future is known to Him alone. But the good news is that He doesn’t want to keep it to Himself. God wants to do extraordinary things in our community. Keep this in mind as you consider how God is inviting you to participate.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Derek
