Cardinal Cupich has announced a multi-phased gradual plan for re-opening our churches for the celebration of the sacraments, private prayer, and eventually mass. However, since our movements will be restricted as that plan unfolds in different phases, the priests will continue for the present time to offer Mass in private each day and to broadcast the weekend Mass.
We must be honest. We expect this situation to continue for some weeks, and any plan for reopening our church for public worship must include every precaution to ensure public gatherings do not create a second wave of contagion, thus squandering the gains made through our sacrifice in these days.
Beginning June 3, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (individual confessions) will be celebrated in church Wednesdays 6-7 PM and Saturday afternoons 4:00-4:45 PM.
Infant Baptisms can be scheduled on any Sunday after June 1 at 12:30 PM.
Trained volunteers are an essential component of our reopening plan. Please send an e-mail to email@example.com to volunteer to assist.
While our parish staff and volunteers will attempt to take appropriate precautions consistent with the advice of public health authorities, parishioners and guests should understand that they assume the risk of contracting Covid-19 any time they enter a public space since such precautions do not eliminate the risk of infection.
The parish phone line (847-825-3153) is monitored frequently throughout the day, with messages forwarded to the parish staff. A directory of extensions is provided. Please alert us of any need for pastoral care. An emergency phone number to reach a priest is also provided.
Our Social Concerns Ministry has an expanded list of volunteer drivers, shoppers and errand runners. If you are a person in need of any of these services, please call the parish phone (847-825-3153) and leave a message.
We, the faith community of Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish, a prayerful community of persons, are called and committed to proclaim and live the Gospel within and beyond our parish.
