MSW CRUX: Ministry to Teens
Mission Statement
The mission of the Mary, Seat of Wisdom, Youth Ministry Program, CRUX, is to encourage teens to explore and deepen their faith, strengthening their relationship with God.
Crux is a program for high school teen-agers, freshman through senior years. Crux, meaning “cross” and “central focus” intends to place Christ at the center of teens’ lives in ways that allow them to build their relationship with God through interaction with others of all ages. This program encourages exploration of the Catholic faith by reading Scripture, reaching out to those in need, delighting in fun moments where new discoveries are unveiled, and developing leadership skills. Members of CRUX embody the Catholic faith through service within our parish and beyond, becoming Christ-centered adults.
Goals and Objectives
The goal of CRUX is to assist high school youth in their personal and spiritual development, helping them connect with the MSW community. This program encourages development of all aspects of Christian life, so that teens see themselves as disciples of Christ who “out of love, put themselves at the service of others.”
