"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
Ushers help create a sense of community in liturgical celebrations by continuing the hospitality of greeters, who first welcome worshipers, and establishing order as they carry out their duties. This ministry creates a sense of fellowship where parishioners are reminded that Sunday worship is not an individual matter, but rather a call to join together in praising and giving thanks to God. Our ushers strive to foster a friendly, hospitable environment by remaining alert to people's needs, and act as persons with grateful hearts, who follow the Biblical mandate, "Out of love, put yourselves at the service of others."
Primary tasks of ushers include assisting is seating Mass attendees as needed, taking up offertory and guide offertory and Communion processions, responding to emergencies, distributing bulletins and other materials as people exit the church, and preparing for the next liturgy. The ministry is open to individuals and couples across all age groups.
