Girl Scouts Ministry

Mission Statement 

The mission of the Girl Scouts Ministry is to teach practical skills and prepare young girls to make ethical choices by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and Catholic Church.

Goals and Objectives 

The Girl Scouts Ministry educates Girl Scouts to make ethical choices based on the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and values of the Catholic Church, while teaching them practical skills for living.
This ministry is dedicated to:

  • Providing quality leadership through thoughtful selection of leaders and through adequate leadership training.
  • Enhancing the character, self-confidence, and skills of those in the scouting program.
  • Coordinating parish ministries and scouting units to assure effective implementation of service projects.
  • Developing effective strategies for recruiting both members and parents.
  • Promoting parental involvement on committees of scouting units to help assure quality programs for the scouts.
  • Pursuing fund raising for the scouting units within the guidelines of Girl Scouts and the parish.

Activities, Programs and Projects

  • Regular and special meetings and outings with scout units.
  • Service projects.
  • Extensive recruiting of members and parents, especially during the first week of school in the fall.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to increase parental involvement.
