"Mission is a constant stimulus not to remain mired in mediocrity but to continue growing." - Pope Francis
Parish Transformation is an Archdiocese of Chicago initiative to make parishes more vibrant and mission-focused. The ultimate goal of the process is to learn new ways of looking at parish life, to adopt new pastoral and fiscal practices where it is advantageous, and to initiate an ongoing review and refinement of the mission and vision of the parish at regular intervals. Other benefits include:
•Faith sharing and spiritual renewal among parishioners
•Appreciation for what unites us as parishioners rather than what divides us
•Deeper engagement of lay leadership
•Engagement of new leaders and refreshment of leadership councils if needed
•Improved of financial transparency, education, & stewardship
•Increased collaboration among church, school, and religious education programs
Since Fall 2011, nearly 140 parishes have participated in Parish Transformation. In Fall 2014, MSW became one of the additional 20-30 parishes in the semi-annual waves. Parish Transformation is not a single event but rather marks the beginning of an ongoing process of review and refinement to ensure that our parish continues to grow s together as the working branches of Jesus.
